Three Essential Aromatic Vegetables Which Should Always Be In Your Refrigerator
Three aromatic vegetables, carrots, celery, and leeks (or onions) are essential ingredients for flavorful vegetable soups, stews, salads, stir fries, and legume recipes. Having these ingredients on hand simplifies meal planning and preparation. They keep well in the fridge and require no special handling. I also like to have garlic cloves, fresh ginger root, and a head of purple cabbage in the vegetable drawer. With these few basic ingredients always in the fridge, it's easy to create a wide variety of simple healthy vegetable dishes with minimal planning. Complicated soup stocks are completely unnecessary when you know how to cook with these aromatic vegetables. See next post for a stir fry recipe based on these three vegetables.
